Level by level
Pummarola goes up one level each time you pick it again on a level-up (a chest can also give it a level), up to level 5. Nothing else levels it up: other passives never do. The table shows what it gives in all at each level.

Evolves
Pummarola can be at any level: only the weapon marked MAX has to be maxed.
Other things that change Recovery
These do not level up Pummarola. Each one adds its own bonus to Recovery, and the game adds every bonus together. For example, Pummarola at level 5 (+1/s) + Recovery at rank 5 (+0.5/s) + Garlic Chef (+0.5/s) = +2/s Recovery.
